NEW IN 2020—Ashland Bike Company partnered with their community of businesses and helped set up the Ashland Bike Project, a 501(c)(3). This separate entity from the bike shop is working hard to bring more opportunities for cycling into their community, something they are proud to support, and they are actively raising money for the Ashland Pump Track. This spring, the Ashland Bike Project was awarded a $15,000 Outride Fund matching grant and will need to raise $14k to earn that full match. Go Team Ashland!

The Outride Fund empowers communities to launch youth cycling programs in the areas of youth cycling education, youth rider development and trails and pump track projects. Through dollar for dollar matching grants the Outride Fund seeks to make fundraising easier and to accelerate the fundraising process.

The Ashland Bike Project began in 2018 with the goal of changing the community one bike ride at a time. Funds raised in round one donated 24 mountain bikes to youth in Ashland City, and in 2019 they partnered with the City of Ashland to bring the town their own mountain bike trail. Goal for 2020 is to raise thousands of dollars to provide trails, bikes, and programs for our young people through Team WILD. Together with OUTRIDE, they expect to see up to $40,000 invested into their community this summer.

Obesity, depression, addiction, and ADHD are just some of the problems faced as a community and can be solved one bike ride at a time. Money raised through OUTRIDE will be used to build new trails, a pump track, and equipment to keep the Brookside MTB Trail system going.
