The Specialized Foundation is now accepting Riding for Focus grant applications for the 2019-2020 academic year. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. The grant window will close February 14th, and the final decisions will be announced April 17th. Applications are open to all middle schools, grades 6-8, throughout the USA.
In the continuous pursuit of improving the lives of children with learning differences, The Specialized Foundation is hosting its second annual medical research summit at Stanford University to further their mission of improving the academic, health, and social success of today’s youth through cycling.
MORGAN HILL, Calif., May 29, 2018 —The Specialized Foundation has announced the 37 new middle schools selected for the 2018-2019 Riding for Focus school program. With the addition of these new schools, The Specialized Foundation will now support more than 20,000 students, across 77 schools, in 30 states. The program integrates cycling into the physical education curriculum as a means to help students achieve academic, health, and social success.
Scosche Industries and North Pole Engineering (NPE) have partnered with The Specialized Foundation to provide both hardware and software systems to safely gather biometric outputs from students participating in the Riding for Focus program. New data collection protocol will seek to validate the academic, health and social success outcomes of students!
Applications are open to all middle schools, grades 6-9, throughout the USA. The grant window is open for 38 days, and will be closing March 25th. The Specialized Foundation’s Riding for Focus school program is designed to introduce students to cycling’s positive effects on academic performance, health, and social success, with a focus on students with learning differences, such as ADHD.
The Specialized Foundation is giving back this holiday season through a one-for-one donation program to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. For every Specialized Riprock, Hotrock, or Hotwalk purchased in the USA, from December 1st to December 25th, The Specialized Foundation will match and donate a bike to Boys & Girls Clubs affected by recent natural disasters, including the wildfires in Northern California, and hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
