March Madness, Outride Style

Greetings Friends,

There are so many good things happening at Outride right now. We’re excited to share! Our current progress would not be possible without your partnership and support from our community. As always, we hope you’ll share your updates, stay connected, and help spread the news!

Onward together,

The Outride Team

P.S. Speaking of the Outride Team, please say hi + welcome to Outride’s new teammates: Kaylee Browning + Libby Caldwell! Kaylee joined as our Marketing and Communications Manager and Libby is Social Media and Partnerships Strategist. Learn more about them here.

SPRING Training + R4F Application extension

Riding For Focus season is well underway!
We were delighted to welcome our 2021 program partners and Lauren Freeman (R4F Program Manager) has been busy with spring training and sending out equipment to schools to get their programs rolling! Cottonwood Community School and Pioneer Trail Middle School are very excited about the bikes they just received! (Keep those photos coming!!)

To accommodate the increased interest (and to give our teacher community friends more time) we extended the deadline to April 15th.

R4F grant provides schools with everything they need to get their 6th-8th grade students riding, including bikes, helmets, curriculum, and intensive teacher training. Beyond teaching students to ride, R4F improves students’ physical, mental, and emotional health - look at our research report!

More details about the program grant + how to apply are here.
Please spread the word!

Richmond Cycling Corps, Summer ‘21 Outride Fund grantee, is working to educate and empower the lives of youth living in the heart of public housing in Richmond, Virginia.

Winter ‘22 Outride Fund Grants Under Review

We received 77 applications from organizations doing great work to empower youth cycling in their communities.

Last Summer, we awarded $530,000 to 53 amazing and inspirational youth cycling projects in 27 states. More than 60% of our partners have already met their goal and earned their matching grants! Since its inception in 2019, the Outride Fund has committed over $1.8m in grant funds to community organizations making cycling more accessible and diverse for youth communities!

Exciting Outride Fund news coming soon - stay tuned!

Welcoming 41 Outride Ambassadors to Help Empower Youth

Outride Ambassadors visit Riding For Focus schools and Outride communities to meet, inspire, and ride with young riders. Each ambassador has a story about how bicycles have empowered their lives - inside and outside of competition. Outride Ambassadors give youth someone to look up to and we’ve found some incredible riders to help us achieve this goal.
